Research

Simon’s research expertise covers a range of areas related to mental health, clinical psychology, gender roles and masculinities, mental health of boys and young men, and youth depression and suicide prevention. His full list of publications is here, and collaborative projects are here.

Simon’s research appears in leading peer reviewed journals including Lancet Public HealthBritish Journal of Sports Medicine, and Journal of Affective Disorders.

Simon is a co-author on the IOC Athlete Mental Health Consensus Statement. He provided input into the Healthier Masculinities Framework for Gender Equality published by VicHealth, and led the research arm of the Human Code Project on the promotion of healthier masculinities in the Macedon Ranges. He is developing school-based conceptual models of Positive Masculinity for boys and young men.
